With 22 orders in hand and the first ship out of the dock, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, ranks first in the world in PCTC orders.

Three more orders were obtained, and the new ships can carry hydrogen vehicles.

On March 10, GSI, together with CSSC, signed an order for the construction of three 7,000-vehicle dual-fuel vehicle carriers (PCTCs) with Guangzhou Yuanhai Automobile Shipping Co., Ltd.

The signing of this contract will help to alleviate the current imbalance between supply and demand and insufficient capacity of the car ro-ro ship market required for China's car exports. Calling for a strong country, implement the important measures of "National Ships, National Vehicles and National Transport".

This type of ship is designed by Shanghai Shipyard. It has a length of 200 meters, a molded width of 38 meters, and a design draft of 8.6 meters. Various energy-saving measures such as drag reduction and antifouling paint make it a green, intelligent, environmentally friendly and efficient car carrier.

It is worth mentioning that this type of ship can transport new energy vehicles fueled by hydrogen and natural gas on the 11th and 12th decks. Domestic demand for new energy vehicles continues to increase.

The first ship was released from the dock, and the construction technologies were overcome one by one.

On March 7, the first dual-fuel car carrier in South China—the 7,000-car dual-fuel car carrier (PCTC) built by GSI for SFL was successfully undocked.

The ship has a total length of 200 meters, a molded width of 38 meters, a design draft of 8.6 meters, and a design speed of 19 knots. It can carry 7,000 vehicles. It is technically difficult and requires a lot of work.

The construction team of the project overcame the influence of the Spring Festival holiday, and overcame many technical difficulties in the first shipbuilding, such as thin plate deformation control, LNG system installation, 126 pieces of complex roll-on equipment installation, and 79 supporting columns. It only took 8 days, and the evaluation of the undocking and transfer stage successfully met the company's first-ship ship scoring requirements.
